I recently bought a Writhing Ward. They can be had for under 300FSP. I am happy that I bought it, but I began to wonder how good a deal I made. Here is my thinking.
Assumptions:
You hunt with TH175 and no Sacrifice effects
Creatures drop about 400 gold (with consideration of TH175) per stam used
You don't overflow
Calculation
I'm getting 336 stam more each week (2x 168). 336*400 = 134,400 extra gold from hunting, weekly (or about 2/3 a FSP, at current MP prices).
Conclusion
It would take about 450 weeks to recoup my expenditure. From a purely profit perspective, not a great deal.
Other issues
More profit is made, per stam spent, by selling buffs (even at my great prices). |

Did you consider the bonuses in that calculation? The item is worth 89 fsp in bonuses alone.
120 stam- 24 fsp, 2 stam gain- 50 fsp, 1 xp gain- 15 fsp
subtracting 89 from your total may bring your weeks down a bit. |

| that the Ward, under 300, was considered a deal at one time. |
